Olive Branch
Bar Restaurant
When Heritage Partners Development Company bought an old pub and some land from another development company, they were aware of the depth of feeling that ran throughout the local community, with developers inherently having a history of demolishing the old to make way for the new they wanted to change this perception, so right from the start they worked with the planners and the local parishioners to arrive on what seems to be an ideal solution for the local community.
The Horse and Groom Public House in Tunstead, Norfolk in the heart of the Norfolk Broads had been closed and was sold by the brewery that owned it, as, it did not have a sufficient regular trade to sustain it and the brewery sold it to a development company, however, they were not prepared for the responsibility of retaining a licensed premises on the site, but, Ian Matthews one of the Directors of Heritage Partners was all too aware of the feeling in the local community and worked with planners and the parish to ensure that a licensed premises remained in the village as well as providing four new homes.
Throughout all stages of the development care has been taken to make sure that the development was in keeping with the surroundings and could remain an important part of community life, as well as providing employment, and a location for visitors to the region to eat, and utilising local sources.
So out of the frying pan saw the birth of the Olive Branch Bar and Restaurant, Ian’s vision was for a type of Gastro bar/restaurant that would attract both locals and holiday makers alike as well as giving something back to the local community.
He was introduced to Laurent Joerger, who originated and was classically trained in France but with his heart and family settled in Norfolk, a Chef with a desire to make a mark on the eating experience available to everyone. The restaurant which is open for lunch and evening meals, will be serving quality locally sourced food suppliers, such as: - The Good Food Cellar of Sustead G F White Traditional Butcher in Aylsham

Inevitably, some of the dishes will have a French twist.
